Fairport Harbor Bikeway Grand Opening

Event Description: This QuickBooks Workshop for Beginners (I) will show you how to unlock the power of QuickBooks, and take direct control of your business finances. By the completion of this class, you will have a clear understanding of how to setup and manage your company finances on a day to day basis, as well as access basic financial information you need to help you become successful in operating your small business. Topics included in this workshop are:

  1. Setting up your Business-identifying methods for navigating QuickBooks and importance of setting preferences
  2. Accounts Payable-vendors, purchase orders, inventories, entering/paying bills, check payments
  3. Accounts Receivable- customers, estimates/sales orders, invoices/statements/credits and receiving payments
  4. Banking-bank accounts, making deposits, bank reconciliation and credit cards.

Watch the shearing of sheep and goats of their winter coats of wool that can be used to produce a variety of fiber products. Learn hands on how to spin, weave and make felt. Meet fiber-producing animals including sheep, goat, alpaca and rabbit.

Momentum, inertia, force and motion will all come together to explain the science behind sports! Sixteen interactive stations go beyond the typical "hands on" with balance beams, treadmills, sprint tracks and more in this special exhibition opening Saturday, May 28! Sports Arena is free with regular paid admission to the Science Center. From gymnastics to rowing, walking to running, there's something for guests of all ages and physical abilities. Guests can race an image of a dinosaur down a sprint track, test their balance on a competition sized balance beam, step up to the pitcher's mound and even play against the pros in the "green screen games." While exploring the different interactive stations guests will learn the science behind what makes the human body perform the way it does, as well as best practices and other ways to help their body achieve better results!
